Shop Fitting

  • The Business

  • A large national shop fitting company approached Century to supply a storage and distribution service for their shop fitting business. The company liked the organised and open book policy approach to business by Century’s MD Stephen Basey-Fisher and the space available to accommodate business growth.

    The shop fitting business has grown considerably in the past few years to an annual turnover of 10 million. During that time Century has been able to support the growth expanding the warehouse space and offering addition after sales services.

    Century now distributes items for the client to major retailers such as New Look, Top Shop, Gap, Debenhams, Miss Selfridge, River Island, Burtons, John Lewis, BHS, JJB, JDD, Primark and Dorothy Perkins.

  • Warehousing

  • The very nature of retail keeps Century staff on their toes. Last minute orders are often the case and large roll outs for major shop refits takes careful organisation.

    Careful storage, an accurate stock record and ordering system and a dedicated team of operational staff ensures orders arrive on time and are careful stored and packed to reach their destination in tip top condition.

    Mannequins, hangers, point of sales material, counter positions, window dressing and display material are just some of the many and often bulky items that Century manages and control.


  • Stock Control

  • Stock is controlled and updated constantly and the Century team feeds into the client’s own sales office systems for quick and easy transfer of order information.

    Once received an order is checked, processed and dispatched in minimum time.

    Stock quantities are constantly monitored and updated as stock goes in and out of the warehouse. The client’s sales team always has to hand an accurate figure of what is in stock input into the system by the Century team.

  • Bulk Ordering

  • Century deals with individual orders to major refits for the client.

    With major retailer constantly updating and refitting shop premises bulk orders are often the norm. Care is taken at the packing stage to ensure an order is dispatched complete, retailers more often than not have tight refit deadlines to achieve and are expected to roll out a total new look with everything in place down to the very last mannequin in a very short space of time.

    Bulk orders are double checked by Century to ensure when they leave the warehouse everything required at the destination is on the lorry. The same care applies to any size order.

  • Repairs

  • What do you do with a broken mannequin?

    Standing in windows constantly being dressed and undressed can be an exhausting experience for the toughest of mannequins. Many receive chipped nails, broken arms and other damage requiring attention. Century has a repair centre that mend mannequins and return them to their owners.

    The Century team has a fully fitted out workshop capable of dealing with a wide variety of broken shop fitting products as and when they arise.
